Meet our Owner and Master Esthetician
Dorothea C. Johnson's journey into skincare and esthetics is one of passion, perseverance, and purpose. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1986, she spent 12 years working at UnumProvident Insurance Company. However, at age 39, she decided to follow her true calling—helping people feel confident in their skin.
Her love for skincare began years earlier when she worked as a Counter Manager for Fashion Fair Cosmetics at Proffitt’s department store. Though she had to leave that position for a full-time job, her passion for beauty and skincare never faded. Recognizing her deep desire to empower others through self-care, she made the bold transition into the field of Esthetics.
In February 2005, Dorothea founded Inner Glow Skin Care Services at Heavenly Styles Salon and Day Spa. Over the years, she has gained extensive experience working with Skin Solutions Medical Spa, In the Buff Day Spa, Cass Gardens Salon and Day Spa, The Health Nut, and Evanhealy Skin Care Company. Through every challenge, she remained committed to her faith-driven mission of helping people feel beautiful inside and out.
Dorothea is also an Esthetics Instructor, having taught in the Cosmetology Department at Virginia College in Chattanooga. She currently serves as a part-time Esthetician Instructor at Brillare Beauty Institute, mentoring the next generation of skincare professionals.
As a Holistic Esthetician, Dorothea has been trained in herbs and vitamin supplements, believing that "what you see on the outside is a reflection of what’s happening on the inside." She worked for Nutrition World for over 10 years and collaborated with several vitamin supplement companies, deepening her expertise in internal wellness and its impact on skin health.
Today, at Inner Glow Skin Care Services in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dorothea provides customized skincare and makeup education. She proudly uses the CA Botana Skin Care line, known for its fusion of ancient herbal and mineral treatments with modern innovations. All products are cruelty-free and free from animal by-products, ensuring a gentle yet effective approach to skincare.
